Hi I'm Jared

Born in California, grew up in Washington, from Georgia, serving in Idaho, I love to Scuba Dive and I'm a Mormon

About Me

My favorite thing ever to do in the world is to Scuba Dive. I have been to the Great Barrier Reef in Austrailia and had the best experence in my life seeing the world of the unknown ocean. I am a video gamer when I can't make it to the sea. I am big in to first person shooters and love to beat my little brother in Video Games. There is nothing better then being with my little brother and saving the world. I love to play basketball, soccer, run track and cross Country. I am willing to play just about any sport that there is out there. I really want to travel the world. It is my dream to make it to Japan and Eygpt. The world is a book and if you only go to one place you have only read one page. I used to work at Chick-fil-a (the best food ever!) and Tractor supply company. I hope to one day be a statistician. I am now serving the lord and putting away all of my hobbies to help other people to come closer to Christ who is by far the most important person in my life. I am serving in Idaho and am truly coming to love the Idahoens!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because the church has truly helped me. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has pointed me towards Jesus Christ in a way that is impossible to fully describe. This is important to me because I know that I am not perfect so I need someone to help me to return to live with my Father in Heaven. Jesus Christ is that person. The Church has also given me many opptuninties to serve my fellowman and feel the love for others just like Jesus Christ did while he was here on Earth. The reason that I am Mormon is because I have felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that the doctrine that is taught is true. It is hard to describe the feeling that the Holy Ghost brings but I can tell you that it is a good feeling. A feeling so great, that you would not want to do anything in the world, but that thing that caused that feeling in your heart. Those things that I have done that have cause the feelings of the Holy Ghost are simple. Reading the scripture, going to Church, and praying to my father in Heaven. These things have brough peace and comfort into my life, and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now I am on a Mission in Idaho, it is my marvelous opportunity to help people to learn about our Savior, Jesus Christ. I have seen many people change their life style to follow Christ. All of these people who chose to follow Christ have been able to improve their lives. I really want to help every one that I can. If they don't want to hear the message that I share, I want to at least serve them. I have chopped wood, shingled roofs, herded some goats, painted, and even built a deck. This is how we can live our religion is by serving all those around us.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Well the doctrine that the Mormon Church teaches has been on the earth since the very first man was on earth. God revealed to Adam the ways his church should be ran and the teachings of the church. He also gave Adam the power of the Priesthood so that he could have the authority to run the church. Since Adam though there have been periods of time where the teachings became corrupt by man and the Priesthood had been lost. There are many times when the church has been fully brought back on to the earth in its pure form. Joseph Smith has been the last prophet that has brought the church back in its pure form. The pure church is still on the earth today and is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (AKA Mormon Church). The first man that founded the Church though was Adam. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith simply put is a prophet that was in the early 1800's. Prophets are men who are chosen by God to teach about Jesus Christ and help us come closer to Jesus Christ. An example of some prophets that were in the Bible are; Moses, Abraham and Noah. The reason why Joseph Smith is such a special prophet to those who are Mormon is because he is the first prophet on the earth since the death of Jesus Christ and his Apostles. A major achievement that Joseph Smith accomplished in his life is the translation of the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith was given the gift of translation from God so that he could Translate the Book of Mormon into English. He had very little education so that gift was the only possible way that he would be able to translate the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ and is a history of the people that lived in the Americas. If anybody wants to know if Joseph Smith truly was a prophet they can read the Book of Mormon and ask God through prayer if the Book of Mormon is true. Once you know the Book of Mormon is true, you then know that Joseph Smith is a prophet chosen by God. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families are so important to us because of one reason, love. When families are together and spending time learning, laughing, and playing we experience the most joy that we can experience in our lives. We also believe that our relationships with our families will continue in heaven, so it is important to us to build our relationships. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I love the Bible. The reason why I love the Bible is because we can read so much about Jesus Christ and his ministry while he was here on Earth. The way the Christ speaks and asks questions many times brings me to truly ponder the great questions of life. The Bible is the word of God. Joseph Smith the first prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints read from the Bible and learned that he must pray in order to find out which church was true. The Bible is Holy Scripture because if it wasn't then Joseph Smith would have never asked God which Church was true, therefore The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints would not even be on the Earth if it wasn't for the Sacrifices that those who wrote and preserved the bible.
