Hi I'm Brig

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father - the most important roles in my life. I also buy, fix, and sell businesses and run a small private equity group.

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't always believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ. For most of my childhood and teenage years, I doubted and even fought against the church and its teachings. At the age of 17, I had an experience that involved much inner conflict and struggle in mind and spirit, which changed my life completely. For the first time in my life I was able to get a glimpse of the saving power of the atonement of Christ. This turning point put me on the strait and narrow path towards God. Every good thing I've ever become or done is a direct result of the blessings I've received by living in accordance with Christ's true church - what some call "the Mormon Church".

How I live my faith

First and foremost, I'm a husband and a father and my purpose is to see to it that my wife and children are cared for, loved, taught the truth, and that they return home to our Father in Heaven. In addition I, like most of the men in the church, help strengthen families by home teaching. Typically, men are assigned a few families to home teach on a monthly basis. Home teaching involves visiting other members in their homes, sharing a gospel message, and also checking in and being sensitive to any needs the family may have. I also enjoy the blessings of attending and serving in the holy Temple in Mesa, Arizona on a regular basis.

What is being a Mormon like?

Living the gospel isn't hard. Not living the gospel, which is living in a way contrary to the laws of nature and happiness - now that is very hard. Is living the gospel of Christ demanding? Yes. Challenging? Sure. But anything good and noble worth obtaining is fraught with challenges and struggles. Being an active member of Christ's church, (the Mormon Church) and living by the precepts taught therein has brought me greater peace and perspective. It's made me a better husband, father, and businessman. It's given me a greater desire to fulfill my duties in caring for those I'm responsible for. I love the gospel with all of my heart. It is, as Christ taught, like a rare pearl of great price which when a man found "went and sold all that he had, and bought it." Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

The gospel is true. It's that simple. The Church Christ established continues to grow and its reach continues to expand upon the world. As Christ said, "ye shall know them by their fruits." The fruits are evident in the lives of its members. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No - we do not worship Joseph Smith. He is a prophet of God, like Moses, or Elijah, or John the Baptist. We worship God our Eternal Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
