Hi I'm Chris

I'm a son, a friend, a husband, a father, an expat and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands with my wife and new baby girl. I manage the sales & marketing of my company in Europe and moved here in 2010. I enjoy spending time with family, watching movies, golfing, skiing water & snow and spending time outdoors. I served a mission in Ecuador in 2002-2004 where I learned and grew more than I thought possible. I learned to love the gospel and my Savior through service and great examples of my mission president and his wife as well as the many people that I met throughout my mission LDS and not. Through life changing experiences and trials I have found that there is little we actually control in life, but what we do control is our attitude and outlook on what happens. I continue everyday to try and better myself and live worthy of the blessings of the gospel. I'm not perfect and as such fall, but try to keep getting up and starting over.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I reached a crossroads in my life where I had to decide what I wanted my future to look like. I was born and baptized in the church, however in my teen years decided I didn't have any interest in going to church or being involved in it's activities. When I reach mission age I watched as many of my friends left on missions and I continued to meander through life aimlessly. I can remember one night being in a place I shouldn't have been in college and that night I reached a point where time seemed to stop and stand still. That night I saw my life in two different lenses. Without sharing to much I saw many things I didn't like and decided I need to change my life if I wanted to be happy. I cleaned up my life and decided to go on a mission. That single decision at the time saved my life in many senses of the word. The 2nd best decision I made was to marry my wonderful, amazing and beautiful wife. The choice to live the gospel and has blessed my life beyond measure. I have seen first hand the wonderful blessings that the gospel has brought into my life and the life of so many other. I know it's true and I know my personal savior lives and loves me. I know my father in heaven knows my name and as a deep interest in my daily life. I'm grateful for a church that places the family at the center and focuses on the life, atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

The best way I have found to live my faith is by trying to live as an example of Christ. I fail often, but keep trying and through this day to day struggle I grow stronger in my beliefs and testimony. Through these day to day struggles and I learn to live my faith with better conviction.
