Hi I'm Christopher

I'm a Mormon who loves Sports!

About Me

I love physical activies of any sort. I play football in college which keeps me healthy and strong. Anything outdoors is usually what I like to do. Wake boarding, long boarding, skiing, snowboarding, hunting, and just hanging out with all my friends. I grew up in the church, my parents always tried to teach me to live the gospel but I didnt always listen and had to learn the hard way.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and lived off my parents testimonies for several years. As I got a bit older I was faced with different types of temptations and not having a testimony of my own led me down the wrong path. I never wanted to be that kid who knew all the answers in sunday school or I didnt want to stand up for the church when others talked down on it. In high school I developed bad habits that were taking me in the opposite direction. I was becoming that rebellious son that no body wants and caused my parents alot of stress and grief. My parents reached a point that they didnt know what to do and so they called a friend to try and help me. This was my sunday school teacher who went the extra mile to help me understand the things that are most important in life. She challenged me to read the Book of Mormon and to find out for myself. This challenge had been issued to me several times before by my parents, teachers, and the prophet, yet I had never accepted it....this time I did. As I read the Book of Mormon I didnt notice a change at first and that is most likely because I did not have real intent. I have never really like reading because I have struggled understanding what I read and the scriptures were even harder. This went on for several weeks until one sunday I was attending a church meeting and God spoke to me. I did not have a vision like Joseph Smith but I didnt need that, I received a powerful message from the Holy Ghost that God was real, that He loved me and has been watching me, and that the gospel of Jesus Christ was the only way to eternal happiness. I know that God spoke to me and that is something I will never be able to deny. Now each day as I read the Book of Mormon my testimony is confirmed that it is true. If God established something great for all of His children, why wouldnt you want to be a part of it. Being Mormon has given me so much more direction in life and has helped me grow into who I am now.

How I live my faith

Each day I strive to live my life by living the teachings of Jesus Christ. We all the know that there is not a greater example of the living then the Savior. Each day he looked for opportunities to serve others and to teach them, I am far from perfect, however I try my best.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes! I ask myself "did God love the people in the old testament more than He loves us?" "Did God lose His power to be able to call a prophet?" I dont think so. We are still faced with many different temptations and challenges in the world today and having a prophet allows the world to hear Gods voice and to hear the warnings to will save us from physical and spiritual danger. Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

We strive to follow the things that Christ did while He was on the earth. Christ nor His Apostles were paid for the service that they rendered. We know that when we are in the service of our fellowmen we are in the service of our God. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

The Savior taught His 12 Apostles to go for teaching and baptizing people in His name. There are many people in the world who do not know where to find the true gospel but missionaries are able to share it with everyone in every different situation. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

The bible contains the fulness of the gospel just like the Book of Mormon. When we have both of them we have two testaments that Jesus is the Christ. Show more Show less
