Hi I'm Debbie

I'm a stay-at-home Mom, a Grandma, a musician, a teacher, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Washington state, went to college at BYU, where I studied English and French, with the idea of teaching high school. Instead of teaching in the public schools, I ended up staying home with my kids, and teaching piano for several years. I love to read, watch old movies, and spend time with my kids and grandkids.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, and I'm glad I did. The Church has been a help to me since I was a little girl. It gives me direction, solace, and a boost in the right direction. I have a deep love for my Savior, Jesus Christ, and an appreciation for His atoning sacrifice for me. I know that if I continually repent of my sins, and do all I can to live His teachings, through the grace of Jesus Christ I can live once more with my Heavenly Father and His Son.

How I live my faith

Right now I serve as a teacher of 16 and 17-year-old youth in the Sunday School. I also supervise early-morning Seminary (gospel study) teachers of youth in the area. I love the young people in the Church, and feel so blessed to share my testimony of the gospel with them. I have also served as a Primary (children's organization) president, president of the women's organization (Relief Society), choir director, and pianist/organist. I've done it all, and enjoyed it all too.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Debbie
Absolutely! I know by the witness of the Holy Ghost that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that the living prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. Listening to and studying their teachings, and the teachings of all the prophets, from Adam to the present day, gives me direction in my life, answers to my questions, and hope for the future. I believe that God cares as much about His children living today, as He did about those living in the past. Through His prophets, God can direct our lives, just as He did for His children in times long ago. Show more Show less
