Hi I'm Zachary

I am a Sports fanatic, a college student, an accountant, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of four children in my family; so I am the baby of the family and proud of it! I am currently a college student studying accounting, have a two part time job. I love all sports; I grew up playing football, baseball and basketball. I continued to play football at the high school level on my varsity team. I was a Boy Scout through high school as well and became an eagle scout. After High School I went to Ghana, Africa on a two year mission for the church. It was two of the best years of my life. I learned more there about life and who I truly am than I could have done in a lifetime. I like to play paintball, Ultimate Frisbee, volleyball and just have fun with my friends. I currently play softball from a county league. I am in the process of getting a Master’s degree in Taxation and will go to work for a national accounting firm. I am just your everyday average guy. I love spending time with my family and friends and doing what I can to serve them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. I have always been a member of the church and I don’t remember a time that I didn’t know that this church was true. I grew up reading the Book of Mormon with my family and by myself, and I know it is the word of God. Reading the Book of Mormon has brought me closer to my Lord and Savior. When I am down and discouraged because of sin or the cares of this world, reading the Book of Mormon has brought me comfort in knowing that the Lord knows me and can comfort me at all times, in all things, and in all places. Following Jesus Christ and his teaching brings me comfort in the trails I go through in life and he is the basis of my faith. I know that he suffered and died for my sins, pains, and sorrows, but I also know that he lives today!

How I live my faith

As a young single adult of the church, I have the opportunity to fellowship with other adults my age multiple times a week. Every week I am able to attend a religious study class with my peers where we are able to learn more about God's plan for us in this life and what we need to do to live with again one day. Also, we come together on Monday evenings to have a spiritual lesson and then play games and hang out. We help and support each other through our challenges. This world is full of a lot of things that God wouldn’t want for us, and I am there for my friends and them for me to strengthen one another and keep each other on the path back to God. In my group, I have the opportunity to serve as the men’s group leader. I am responsible for the welfare spiritually and temporally for the guys that are in my congregation. This calling has given me a greater love for each one of my guys and a greater understanding of the love Jesus Christ has for each of his children. I enjoy serving others and helping them to feel the Saviors love also. My family and friends are the biggest influences in my life, if not for them I wouldn’t be who I am today. The Lord told us the two greatest commandments are to love him and to love our neighbors as ourselves. I try to live this by the service I give, and sharing the gospel with those whom I love.
