Hi I'm Cindie

I am a Communicative Disorders Major, a patient care provider on the Mother Baby Unit of a hospital, and I am a Mormon

About Me

I have recently been called to serve in the Texas Houston South Mission, Spanish speaking. I report to the MTC June 6 and will depart to Texas Aug 7. I am so excited and thrilled to be serving a mission! I am 21 years old and pursing a degree in Speech Language Pathology. I love the outdoors and being active. My favorite sports are behind the boat, but I also really enjoy soccer, softball, volleyball, football, and basketball. I love finding creative ways to serve others. My favorite feeling in the whole world is to know that the Lord has worked through me to answer a prayer and further his work. I currently work in the nursing field. I began as a Hospice Aide where I had the unique and honored opportunity of serving others at the end of their life's. I now am privileged to work at the beginning of life with mothers and hour old newborns.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I was immeasurably blessed to be born into a valiant family strong in their faith. As nearly all children do, I at first relayed on my parents and older siblings testimonies. I am no longer a child and my testimony is very much my own. I came to know my Savior through my trials and tribulations. I learned for myself that what I have believed since a little girl is indeed true. The more I increase in wisdom and knowledge, the deeper my love for this church grows. Words fall miserably short in expressing how I feel about my beliefs. It is the only thing in the world that can not be marred or molested by the concepts and cruelty of man. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God translated by the prophet Joseph Smith through the power of revelation. I know the heavens are indeed open and the Lord of the most high again speaks to his children through prophets he has called. I know Jesus Christ is the literal son of God and came to the earth to atone for all the woes and sins of all mankind. God is my literal Heavenly Father, and I am his daughter. Nothing in my life brings as much comfort and clarity as this gospel. I am a Mormon because it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being active in my ward, but most importantly being aware of others around me and their needs. I'm not perfect and I don't do this as much as I wish I did, but I've found that as I am focusing on serving others I am more in accord with my faith and beliefs in Christ. Another very big way that I live my faith is recognizing the Lord's hand in my life and staying positive. My faith is the very center and essence of who I am. It is what drives me and what gives me true joy. Without my Savior I am nothing. Without my faith in him I am lost and hope is gone.
