Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 4 children and grandfather of 2 grandchildren. I have been married for 25 years to my beautiful wife. I come from a big family and am the 8th of 9 siblings. Growing up in a big family prepared me for having my own family. Now that I have children of my own who have started their own family it has brought a new perspective on the eternal nature of family and the joys that family brings to ones life. Having a wonderful partner that works side by side with me in my life as we raised our family has been a blessing. I work in the IT field. It is amazing to see how technology has transformed our world. The faster pace of the world can sometime be overwhelming and it is easy to get lost in the multitude of options that are now available to occupy our time. It seems that I am always involved is some type of home improvement project around the house. I enjoy fixing and making improvements and changes to the house and yard. But is does seem a never ending process. But the joy that I get from making improvements outweighs the work involved; once the job is done of course. My name is Jeff and I am Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had the opportunity of having been raised a mormon. But this has not meant that I have not had to find my own testimony of Jesus Christ. I had heard all the stories form the scriptures growing up that were examples to me. Especially the teachings of Christ. But there came a time when I could no longer rely solely on the testimony of my parents and had to know for myself. I cannot remember a time when I did not have the feeling that my Father in Heaven knew me personally. When I was a teenager I sought, though prayer, the confirmation that the things I had been taught were true. There came to me an overwhelming and undeniable answer that yes He lives and yes the church is true. So strong was this confirmation that I have never doubted since. It is never a question. This does not mean that I have not faced trials and difficulties throughout my life. But no matter what comes my way I know without a doubt that I have a Heavenly Father that loves me and know what I am going through. This comforts me and gives me the strength to hold my head high and try and live worthy of His love. I don;t know where I would be if it were not for the teachings of Christ that I have had throughout my life. I can only be thankful that I was chosen to be born into a loving family that has provided for me an example of how to live my life. I try to emulate the teachings of Christ as I raise my family. I am not perfect. But I have a perfect example from Christ to show me the way. Being raised in the church does not mean that I have not had the chance to experience other people faith and teachings. Many of my good friends throughout my life are from other faiths. This has given me a chance to share my beliefs with them and share our common love of Christ. My wife was not a member of the church when we first met. What a blessing it was to share my testimony and faith with her and see her join with me in a wonderful life as we raised our children in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Having faith in Christ does not prevent the cares of the world from finding their way into my life. But it is the my faith in Him that helps me though and overcome life's challenges. I try and live my life as Christ would have me. I fall short more often than I would care to share. But knowing that he gave His life for me so that I may stumble and still return to Him though repentance and forgiveness. The knowledge of the atonement of Jesus Christ and the tender mercies that this has enabled in life has boosted me in tough times. I make it sound like my life has been hard and challenging but quite the opposite. I have a very positive outlook on life. I believe it is the knowledge of the eternal nature of the gospel and of Heavenly Father's plan for us that keeps things in perspective. I try and pass this on to my children and hope that they too understand the the eternal nature of God and Jesus Christ. I find answers to life's questions as I read and search the scriptures. It is amazing that no matter how much our world changes the nature of man remains the same. It is understanding how the Lord has helped others through the same situations that provides a pattern for me. Through this and through prayer I am able to develop a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The more I get to know them the more they are able to guide me in my life. I am blessed by this knowledge my Heavenly Father now me individually and by name. He wants me to live a blessed life. But He knows that I have to come to Him to receive the blessings He has in store for me. He will not force me to heaven but will help me any and every way possible. It is up to me.
