Hi I'm Sylvia

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a mother of five, and grandmother of four.

About Me

I am a mother of five children who have all grown. I have a wonderful husband. I am a homemaker and enjoyed raising my children. I have volenteered in the schools. I am a leader of the young women in church and continue to be kept young keeping up with them! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the church however, I found that I needed to find my own way and testimony. I can't look around me and not see God's hand in everything! I am so very grateful for my Savior and the love He gives us. There is Power in that Love! It is wonderful to know where I am going and what I need to do. I have noticed that as long as I'm living the commandments and trying my best, my path is directed. There is peace in that knowledge. I am so grateful for a Prophet of God who speaks with God and gives us direction. There is peace in knowing we are not left here on our own. I am so grateful for the scriptures and the knowledge we receive from reading them. I particularly love the Book of Mormon and the way it brings great understanding. Again... there is power in knowledge and that is what we receive from studying all the scriptures! I have to admit that I can't imagine where I would be or what I would be without this knowledge and the strength that comes from the fact that I know the gospel is true!

How I live my faith

I am over the young women in our ward. This is the girls ages 12 to 18. It is wonderful to help them learn how important they are in the eyes of God our Heavenly Father. As I share with them and the other leaders that work with them, my testimony of the gospel grows. We have classes every Sunday and activities every week on a week night. There is power in the love that we share together! I am also grateful for the opportunity to visit several of the other women in our ward. Again, it is wonderful to share with their ups and downs. As we help each other, we become more aware of the blessing of our Heavenly Father and how much he loves and cares for each of us!
