Hi I'm Keith

I work with computers, I consider myself logical, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have been married almost 30 years and have two adult children. I recently became a grandfather. I love the outdoors and have been involved in Scouting for most of my life. Recently I have taken up Fly Fishing. My profession is analyzing data and organizing reports in the area of Behavioral Health.

Why I am a Mormon

While raised in the faith, I was not a good example of the faith during my teen years. It wasn't until I examined my inner feelings about God and Jesus that I truly became converted. These teachings are more than just a religion or a belief, they are a pathway back to God. They are a foundation I can build my life around. They are an anchor to which I can cling to when adversity enters my life.

How I live my faith

I enjoy sports and volunteer keeping statistics for the local High School Football team. I have retired from officiating basketball, having progressed to doing High School and a few Junior College games. Officiating helped me be part of the game I love even though I could not play it any more. I felt like I was giving back to kids something that I enjoyed growing up. I have worked with youth most of my life, particularly through the Boy Scouts of America. That is a program that is dedicated to making youth better people. It is something I am proud to be a part of, even though my son has long since grown out of the program. Currently I serve as a Scoutmaster - it is a very rewarding way to spend time.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

The Church divides congregations geographically. The basic unit is call a "Ward" or a "Branch" for smaller congregations. A group of congregations usually 7 to 12 will make up a "Stake." The Stake organization will have people to help support the local leaders in the Wards and Branches with training, programs and activities. These Stake leaders come from the various Wards and Branches of the Stake. One of the neat things about this Church is that you can go anywhere in the world and attend a meeting, and the doctrine taught will be the same as in your home Ward or Branch. Lesson manuals and materials come from the Church Headquarters. Members all over the world are taught the same truths and doctrines of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
