Hi I'm Tommi

I love the out of doors and teaching others to gain an appreciation for our world. I am a wife, mother, daughter and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend. I work full-time in a university setting as a Research Laboratory Supervisor and volunteer in my spare time. I love spending time with my family especially with my husband and our four grown children and their significant others. When I have spare time I love to read, sew, walk, quilt, camp and spend time outdoors. I am very active in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts as an Adult Development Trainer.

Why I am a Mormon

My father is a member of the Mormon Church, but my mother was not. I was baptized when I was 8 years old by my father, but was not very active in the church until my family moved back to Salt Lake City when I was 11. I gained my testimony of Jesus Christ; the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon; my belief that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet on the earth today as I went through my teenage years. I was lucky enough to have some very special people in my life who taught me about living the gospel and supported me as I did that on my own. I am so grateful for my testimony and I have tried to live my life to show people that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In addition to attending church on Sunday, I love giving service to others in any way that I can. I have served in my church in the organizations that teach our children about the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have led the women in our congregation and have worked in the Family History Center. I have taught others to be Self-Reliant and to plan ahead to be prepared in the event of an emergency or a rough time in their life. I have gained a greater appreciation for the Bishop's Storehouses and Home Storage Centers our church has throughout the world through this service. I also serve once a week in the Winter Quarters Temple, what a wonderful growth experience this is for me and my husband. I know it will strengthen my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Tommi
My family is very important to me and I truly believe that Families are Forever. I was married over 38 years ago in the Salt Lake Temple to my husband we were married for time and all eternity. We believe that our marriage will last into the Eternities. We have been blessed with 4 very wonderful children who enrich our lives to the fullest. They are all adults now and some are married, but our family remains close because we believe our children will be with us as we go to live with our Heavenly Father when we leave this earth. We believe through the Atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ we will all return to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ after our mortal death. Show more Show less
