Hi I'm Brendon

I love the outdoors and spending time with my wife and four children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of four energetic kids and live in Northern Virginia. I have a passion for the outdoors and love to spend time in the mountains or desert hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, skiing, and mountain biking.

Why I am a Mormon

The short answer is because my parents raised me in this faith. The long answer is because being a Mormon has brought me immense purpose, satisfaction, and joy in this life. Being a Mormon has helped me come to know Jesus Christ and inspired me to follow his teachings.

How I live my faith

One thing I really enjoy about the Church is it gives me opportunities to serve people from all walks of life. We have this program called home teaching where you share a spiritual message each month with a couple of families and you help to look out for their needs. This program has provided memorable experiences with families from the Congo, Mongolia, Philipines, El Salvador, Haiti, Colombia, and all over the US. I love that our Church provides opportunities for meaningful service. In 2012, I helped out victims from Hurricane Sandy in New York City, which was an incredible experience. There is nothing more rewarding than performing backbreaking work for total strangers in desperate need. Currently I help to lead a group of teenage boys in my congregation. I treasure the experience of helping teenagers find a spiritual anchor in this often confusing and challenging world. In addition to teaching classes on Sundays, I have been very active in Boy Scouts of America -- a truly inspired program for kids of all faiths. I've also helped to organize adult Sunday School classes that focus on the New Testament. I never would have had these character building experiences without the organization of Christ's restored church.
