Hi I'm RoAnn

I married my high school sweetheart and have been married for 30 years. I'm a homemaker and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a pretty basic person. I have never done anything that the world would really want to know about, but I like my life. I'm a wife, a mom, a seamstress, and a teacher. I love my family. I enjoy fashion and creating machine embroidery. I grew up in Utah and have also lived in California, Pennsylvania and Georgia. I have three wonderful daughters and have loved being a "girl mom". My daughters are my closest friends. I love, love, love being a grandmother. I have four grandchildren. One of my special granddaughters was born weighing only 1pound 4 ounces. Her name is Madison. She lived 14 days and then returned to Heavenly Father. She captured my heart and I know that because families can be forever, I will see her again.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. The things I have come to know to be true have helped me live a life of joy and happiness, even during the hard times. I have been able to learn which choices in life help me avoid sadness and pain and which choices bring me pleasure, fulfillment, and peace. Being a Mormon has taught me that service to others brings joy to my life. I can forget myself and make a difference in another persons life. I am a Mormon because it gives my life purpose. I know I am on the earth for a reason and that there is a plan for me to fulfill. I know I am not alone on this journey. I know Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father are helping me. They are real. They love me. I have a relationship with them as a daughter of Heavenly Father. Jesus is my older brother, my Savior, my redeemer. Through Him I can do the hard things of life. Through Him I can make it through hard times and do hard things that make me a better person, a person who is more like Jesus Christ. I'm not perfect. Mormons aren't perfect people. Like everyone, we just try one day at a time to do better than the day before.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving and loving others. I am a member of the largest woman's organization in the world. It's called the Relief Society. Through this organization I can serve other women in my neighborhood and community. I serve them by being someone they can call for help in a time of need. When they are sick, I can take them a meal for their family or help with their children. I can listen when they need a friend. I visit them often in their homes and support and encourage them in their journey. I use my sewing skills to help create clothing for women and girls that is modest, something that is hard to find in the marketplace. I help young women have dresses for prom and other special occasions they feel comfortable wearing. I have been able to teach high school students the gospel of Jesus Christ in my home each morning before school. I love these students and encourage them to live a Christ centered life. I try to teach them which choices will bring them happiness in their lives. I try to be an example to them as a follower of Christ. I live my faith by trusting Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and a living prophet to guide me in my life. I believe a mother's divine role is to nurture her children. I have tried to do this by being at home with my children, being involved in their lives and teaching them the gospel of Jesus Christ. I live my faith by just trying to do what Jesus wants me to do.
