Hi I'm Dustin

I love math, crosswords, and reading. I can make all sorts of things out of origami. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with six brothers (and a sister). Now that I'm older, I have four sons (and a wife). Professionally, I'm a mathematician, specializing in cryptography. I've lived in Brazil and Canada, so I can speak Portuguese (and Canadian).

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church. But when I was a teenager, I knew I needed to decide for myself if this was the true church or not. As simple as it sounds, I prayed and asked God to let me know the truth. The next day I received an answer, which I felt in my heart. I had the greatest feeling of warmth and peace. I've felt that feeling several times in my life, and recognize that it is the Holy Spirit that our Heavenly Father sends to us. So, why am I a Mormon? Because that is what God has told me to be.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I work with the missionaries. It is such a joy to go out with them and teach people about the gospel. I served as a missionary for two years, and it was one of the best periods in my life. On a more personal side, I live my faith by keeping the commandments. I've found that as I do, my life is happier, and I am more blessed. The most important thing to me is my wife and kids. I know that if we live righteously, then my family can be forever. This perspective changes how I live my life.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, we are. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came to earth, lived a perfect life, and then was crucified. He paid for our sins. After he died, he resurrected. If that doesn't make me Christian, then I don't know what does. Show more Show less
