Hi I'm Darrin

I love my family, the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I’m a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in beautiful Colorado. I love doing just about anything with my wonderful wife and our four incredible children. My grandmother gave me a diary when I was nine years old and I have written journal entries every day since, keeping track of volumes of memories of adventures with family and friends. I have enjoyed being employed as a business analyst, project manager and working in marketing and accounting. And I love sports as well. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I have prayed to God asking if this church will get me and my family back to Him and, without a doubt, the answer is "yes". Even though life isn’t always easy, I have learned that if I live the Gospel and have faith in Him, the tough times are easier and the good times are great! Although the list of reasons why I am a Mormon is lengthy, the one that means the most to me is that I can be with my wife for eternity. Marriage does not have to be “til death do us part”. The Bible and other scriptures teach this (see Matthew 16:19, for example). The ordinances to make that possible happen in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My family can be together forever as well! It is incredible doctrine that I wish more people knew about. I guess it’s my job to share that message!!

How I live my faith

I truly find joy and strength by doing the simple things Christ asked us to do; that is to have faith, read the Bible and Book of Mormon, pray always and love my neighbor. I enjoy serving others by volunteering as an assistant scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America and teaching in church classes periodically. I try to show my gratitude to God for the blessings He gives me by having a positive outlook on life. I also strive to live my faith out loud, by speaking about the Gospel with others. I was blessed with the opportunity to serve a mission for two years in South Africa. It was an incredible experience seeing how the Gospel changed people’s lives for the better. I have a daughter who is serving a mission in Guatemala and a son on a mission in Washington as well. I appreciate the sacrifices they are making in order to help others grow closer to the Savior.
