Hi I'm Melanie

I'm a wife, mom, PTA volunteer, girl scout leader, reality TV junkie, baker, and kickboxer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Even though I have a Master's Degree in psychology, I'm now a stay-at-home mom to three cute but crazy kids. With homework, piano, baseball, lacrosse, swim team, girl scouts, and occasional playtime, we're a busy family! My 6-year-old (who should be in bed right now) wants me to add that he loves Pokemon cards.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon, so the easy answer is that this is my religion because it's what I've known since childhood. But the time always comes in life when you have to decide for yourself what's true. I'm a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has testified to me that this church contains the fullness Christ's Gospel. Through this Gospel, we can be united with our families eternally. Through this Gospel, we can have a personal relationship with our Savior. I know Christ knows me, loves me, lifts me, and blesses me. I am so happy to be a Mormon!

How I live my faith

At church, I work with girls ages 12 to 18. I think the most important thing a teenager can learn is that our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ know them and love them. If they are armed with this knowledge, it should give them the confidence to face whatever trials adolescence throws at them. I live my faith in my community too, where I try to serve the people around me and be a force for good in everything I'm involved in. My husband and I teach our children to treat everyone with kindness and reach out to kids who might feel alone or not have many friends. We want our neighbors and friends to feel Christ's love through us.
