Hi I'm Stephanie

I love to dance. I'm an elementary school teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from college with a degree in elementary education. I have loved every minute that I've spent in the classroom so far and I'm so excited to be a teacher. I love children and I find it so rewarding to see them learn and grow. I think that gaining an education is one of the most important things that a person can do with their life, and I hope to be able to help children see this at a young age. My goal as a teacher is to help my students to love learning. I also love to dance! When I was younger, I was in a ballet company. While our emphasis was ballet, we also did a lot of jazz and contemporary, as well as other styles like tap and hip hop. I loved performing and expressing myself through music. In college I branched out and got more involved in other types of dance like country dance and hip hop. I love the feeling of being able to let go of all of your cares and worries when you're on the dance floor, and just being able to have fun. I spend most of my free time with my friends. We spend a lot of time together, sometimes just hanging out and talking, or sometimes going out and finding fun things to do. We play sports and games, watch movies, go swimming, and get creative and do what we can to have some good, clean fun.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents both grew up in the Church, so I've been a member all my life. I've always believed in what I was taught, and throughout my teenage years I came to know for myself that it is really all true. I've had too many experiences throughout my life that have shown me that I have a Heavenly Father who loves and cares about me. I know that He knows who I am and has a plan for me. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and that through Him we can be saved. It is through the power of His Atonement that we can be forgiven of our sins and live with Him and our Father again. I know that through its power we can also be comforted and it just makes life better. I love having the knowledge of this Gospel. It helps me every day in my life, whether for big things or small things. It is because I know these things that I can be happy with life. I know that my trials and problems that I have are tests from my Heavenly Father, meant to teach me things and help me grow, and it is through the help of my Savior that I can overcome these challenges. I know that as long as I am trying my best to live righteously I will be blessed for it and the Lord will take care of me. This Gospel gives me peace and joy.

How I live my faith

I have had different responsibilities over the years in my local wards. I have taught both young children as well as teenage girls in a Sunday School-like setting, which I loved. Over the past year I have been in charge of planning activities in my college student ward. I love that everyone is given a chance to serve and work in their ward in different capacities. It makes everyone feel closer to each other and it gives a sense of community that I don't know you can find in other places. In my every day life I just try to live the way that I know the Lord would want me to. I read my scriptures and pray. I try to treat others the way that the Savior would. I follow the other commandments that we have received, such as being morally clean and not drinking, smoking, or doing other things that are harmful to my body. Above all, I try to live my religion in everything that I do.
