Hi I'm Alex

I love playing music and serving the Lord as a full time missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 21 years old and live with my family here in Georgia. I'm planning on studying physical therapy because I'm fascinated by the human body and I love seeing others be able to grow. I grew up in Colorado and love mountain biking, ultimate frisbee, soccer, playing music and keeping active. I recently finished serving a 2 year mission and had an amazing experience. It gave me the chance to share the secrets to happiness with hundreds of people all day every day and see them make changes to become closer to our Savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, but I didn't start trying to completely follow until I decided to read the Book of Mormon. My Mom had recently remarried and my step brother was preparing to serve a mission. The prophet Gordon B Hinckley had issued a challenge to all of the members in the church to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. Me, being a slightly rebelious teenager, didnt really care about this. I put it out of my mind and kept on going through life. Around september my step brother started asking how my reading was going. After some prying, I told him that I been doing it. He kept bugging me and eventually I started. I didn't quite finish by the first of the year, but I tried diligently and I learned a valuable lesson. The Book of Mormon is truly the word of God and is given to us for our benefit.

How I live my faith

Building our relationship with God is one of the most important things we can do in our lives and we do that through a variety of methods such as praying, reading the scriptures, going to church, serving and loving others etc. As we do that we have the responsibility to share the love and blessings we will receive for following God, primarily with our family. My family is one of the most important things to me and I live my faith by sharing of the love and guidance God has given me to help them be stronger in their faith.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Alex
We're commonly given the nickname Mormons because of the Book of Mormon, which is scripture that was written by prophets here in the Americas. But really we don't go to church and live the commandments because thats how "Mormons" live, but because we know that's how God wants to to lead our life. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Alex
I made a promise a couple of years ago to read the Book of Mormon every day. As I have done so I recieved strength from our Heavenly Father to keep the commandments and was able to feel more of his love. Show more Show less
