Hi I'm Don

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Hong Kong, joined the church 40 years ago.

About Me

I am a Mormon, a dad of three wonderful children. I work in the automotive industry as a technician specializing Mercedes Benz. I love to cook, especially cooking with my children. Being a Chinese Mormon, I found that we share a lot of good values between the Mormon religion and the Chinese culture. The Church reinforces the values that my culture/parents have taught me. I love to go on vacation with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church when I was a teenager, that is the time when I needed to be pulled by a positive influence, my friends were fun to be around at first, but like most teenagers we started getting in trouble when we had too much time on our hands. The missionaries came to our house, and I agreed to be baptize without much knowledge of Jesus Christ. I was inactive for awhile. Thanks to a faithful home teacher(male member who is assigned to visit and teach a church member in their home) I was reactivated through his efforts. I served a two year mission Hong Kong, which is my home town. I love the people that I met on my mission. My testimony came much later after my baptism. I heard many testimonies from friends and leaders of the church, and wondered, "Where is my testimony?" After a period of sincere searching and prayer, my testimony of Jesus Christ grew to the point that it burns in my heart. In my heart I know that God lives, and Jesus is the Christ. Joseph Smith did restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are God's children.

How I live my faith

I have served in church for last thirty some years, and have had many opportunities to serve the youth in the church. I take any opportunity to join a local choir, I feel closer to God in spiritual uplifting music. I believe that a true follower must know and do what he learns. In this gospel we learn to love others as God loves his children. I am not perfect at it, but I can improve my love everyday that I live.
