Hi I'm Lynne

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 79 years old, and have been a Mormon for 71 years. I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I was about sixteen when I gained by own personal testimony. This came about when I listened to a member of the Quorum or twelve Apostles speak at a Stake Conference. Up until that time I was to busy throwing a football, bouncing a basketball, standing at the plate of a baseball game, or fishing and hunting.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the true Church of Jesus Christ, and is the only Church that is fulfilling the prophecies of the Old and New Testament. Whereever I go throughout the world the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetings are all teaching the same principles, and are not influenced by the philosophies of men. Christ told his apostles and prophets that his true Church would be called by his name. If it was John's Church or Peter's Church it would be called by their name. I am a Mormon because I believe in the teachings of the Savior, and his authorized prophets and apostles. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is led by those holding the authority to administer in the ordinances of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The authority to act in behalf of the Savior at this time has been restored in these latter days.

How I live my faith

I continue to follow the council of living Prophets to the best of my abilities. I look forward each Sabbath day to meet, and have my testimony strenghthend. I have had various callings in my various Church Units, which gave me additional opportunities to study the Scriptures, and to share the teachings of the Savior, and his authorized Priesthood leaders to others seeking greater understanding. My wife and I have served three missions for the Church since we retired from the labor force. We served 18 months in Ghana, West Africa. My assignment there was to help work with those involved with the construction permitting, and reviewing the working drawings of the Temple as they were being prepared to meet the various code requirements of Ghana. Also during that assignment, I was also called as a Couselor to the Mission President in the Accra Ghana Mission. My wife served in many additional callings in the Church and the Mission. The second Mission was in the Micronessia Guam Mission. There I was also assigned to the Construction operations of a new Meetinghouse and Stake Center, as well as the remodel of four other meetinghouses on the islands of Majuro and Ebeye in the Marshall Islands. We were also called for 18 months to that mission. The third mission was for three months in Nigeria, West Africa. That assignment was working with the Church and various other organizations in dealing with the measles immunization program of that country. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provided over a million US dollars each year for measles control throuhout Africa.
