Hi I'm Roy

I am a believer in Christ.

About Me

I'm a married Father of four boys, outdoor enthusiast, Chiropractor, and Boise State Bronco fan.

Why I am a Mormon

Yes, I’m a Mormon. Which in itself is a small miracle. I grew up with an Atheist Father and started to go to church from time to time since I was about 9 years old due to a faithful mother who had her faith re-kindled. As I grew up I always felt a strong sense of peace when I went to Sunday school and interacted with other church members. My faith in the Jesus Christ, which started as a small seed, began to grow. As I communicated with my Heavenly Father through prayer and felt his influence during Church activities, my Faith grew more. When I entered into my teen-age years I found that living the commandments gave me confidence and offered me protection from things that had the potential to damage and complicate a youths life. As I kept these commandments I felt his influence more strongly in my life. If I faltered from time to time, as youth do, I found even greater peace and comfort when I found forgiveness in our Saviors atonement. These redeeming experiences felt so good and liberating that I really began to feel a stronger love and gratitude for the Savior. In fact, I felt so grateful that the Lord had done so much for me that I decided to serve a two-year proselyting mission to Japan when I was 19 yrs old. Sharing this “gospel” or good news with others and seeing how it changed lives and brought that sweet joy and redeeming love that I had felt into their lives, made it the best two years of my life. I have since moved on. I found the love of my life, made a family, finished a higher education, and live a normal life in Boise Idaho still feeling the influence of the Lord in my daily life as I learn of him and teach these principles to my four sons. I personally know that God lives and that he is our Father. He has a plan for us to return to live with him in happiness forever if we just believe and are willing to follow the teachings and example of his son, our Savior Jesus Christ. I also know that the fullness of his gospel has been restored through one of his modern day prophets Joseph Smith, and that the church he helped establish is the True church even today with living prophets that guide us still.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to feel the Lords influence in my life daily. I recognize the small miracles he affords me on a daily basis. I thank him for these daily tender mercies and ask for more. I communicate with him in prayer throughout the day and seek his guidance in my decision making. I strive to keep his commandments and am quick to repent when I falter. Most importantly I try stay humble to the fact that I need him and rely on him.
