Hi I'm Cam.

I'm grateful to be a cancer survivor and grandfather of 10 who is healthy enough to commute to work by bicycle. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the father of 5 children and grandfather of 10 grandchildren. I enjoy cycling and hiking in the great outdoors. Most days I commute 25 miles round trip to/from work via bicycle. In 2007 I qualified for the California Triple Crown of Cycling by completing 3 or more 200 mile/day rides in one calendar year. That same year I also enjoyed a week long, 500 mile cycling tour of gorgeous Southern Utah. I also enjoy yoga and Palates classes. I'm a Manufacturing Engineer by education and am employed as a computer specialist for an aerospace manufacturing company. I sing baritone in our church choirs.

Why I am a Mormon

The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ helps motivate and inspire me to strive to achieve my eternal potential. It helps me become more like my exemplar and Savior Jesus Christ by being more loving, kind, compassionate, merciful, understanding, forgiving, and patient. The Church of Jesus Christ helps natural (selfish) men and women become good and helps good people become prepared to return to the presence of God. Ancient and modern scriptures, combined with the counsel of living apostles and prophets, provide answers to the purpose of life, where we came from and where we're going, and how to weather the difficult challenges of life.

How I live my faith

As an Eagle Scout and a disciple of Jesus Christ, I try to live by the principles of the Boy Scout Oath/Law and the teachings and Gospel of Jesus Christ. I like to help other people, especially when I can do so anonymously. I try to be a good example to my family and the people within my sphere of influence. I try to share my precious testimony of the restored Gospel of Christ with others. When unsure about which choice to make in a difficult situation, I try to remember to ask myself, "What would Jesus do in this situation?" One of my responsibilities at Church is to provide training and coordination for emergency preparedness and disaster relief.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

God expects all his children to live by a single standard of morality, which is to remain chaste outside of marriage and to remain completely faithful to our spouse after marriage. Marriage is a God-sanctioned, and potentially eternal union between a man and a women. Those who feel attraction towards those of their same gender are beloved sons and daughters of God. Like everyone else, they are not condemned for experiencing temptations to deviate from God's moral code. We are all held accountable for our actions and what we choose to do when we are tempted to violate God's commandments. Show more Show less
