Hi I'm Ben

I was born in the church, forgot who I was... I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a dad of 5 beautiful children, they and my wife are the reason I wake up in the morning. I work as a business consultant, helping companies with their technology needs. Although I've lived in Canada all of my life it's been in three different provinces. Canada is such a beautiful and diverse country, I am so grateful and proud to be Canadian. I enjoy the outdoors, especially camping, hiking, and swimming with the family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born in the Church, when I was in my late teen years I fell inactive, even at one point becoming an atheist. I had turned my back on everything to do with God or religion. I had fallen into a life of drugs, alcohol, and other addictions. One morning I woke up and I could see my life clearly for the first time, and I knew the direction I was in would have led, utimately, to my an early demise. I remember the things I was taught as a youth in the church. Suddenly, I knew. I knew it was all real, and now it was time for me to start making my way home. I remember it being a saturday night, and I called my uncle who lived close by and was an active member. They weren't at home, but I left a message, "Hey, its Ben. Can you pick me up for Church tomorrow?" The following morning I returned to Church and to God, and I have never looked back.

How I live my faith

Since returning to full-activity in the church, I held a number of callings. And always as a Hometeacher. I think my favourite calling of all was working in the Primary (teaching 10 and 11 year olds) and with the scouting program with youth of our ward. Currently I'm serving in our Ward's Sunday School presidency.
