About Me

I was born in Utah and live in North Dakota which is the perfect state for me. I tolerate the cold well (and it gets COLD) and try to make the most of the warm summer weather. I enjoy cross-country skiing in the winter and biking, camping and canoeing in the warmer months. Most of all I enjoy spending time with my family-- my husband and young daughters.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the church though some of my earliest memories are of being taught to ask God that I may know for myself if this is His church. Although I prayed to know through my youth it wasn't until I was a teenager that I felt like I HAD to know. I committed myself to whatever answer I would receive-- either to the affirmative or negative. It was then that I received my answer that this was the true and only church of Jesus Christ. I have never doubted since. The gospel brings unparalleled peace into my life. I feel like I know my Savior yet I am able learn more of Him each day as I study the scriptures and pray. He lives and knows me personally. My life has purpose and meaning through Him.

How I live my faith

I have the wonderful opportunity to work with the children in the church-- to teach and serve them though often I feel that they are teaching and serving me. I am begining to learn what He means when He says to be humble as a child. These children are so strong and amazing and I know that Jesus loves them dearly. At times I feel that I can almost see the angels of God surrounding them.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a code of health to keep us free, to keep us happy and to keep us clear that the Spirit may guide us. We do not take harmful substances into our bodies (alcohol, drugs, nicotine, coffee) and are sure to take in good foods (whole grains, vegetables, fruit, water). Don't believe this?
