Hi I'm Emily

I juggle college, a new marriage and a job. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a junior in college studying Public Health. I got married last year and it has been the best choice I've made in my life. Even though I am far away from home and have new life situations I can find peace through prayer and the teachings of the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

My husband once asked me why I have stayed a member of the Church. I said that it is because of how I always receive a consistent answer to my prayers and questions. I know that if I ask in prayer, Heavenly Father will bless me with direction and peace. The Church's core doctrine has always stayed consistent. I thrive on consistency in my life and have often been disappointed by the inconsistency of others because of their poor choices. Prayers have always been answered and I can always count on the consistency of Heavenly Father. He has never let me down and that is how I know he is real and that he knows me personally.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is not just your religion, it's a way of life. My day starts with prayer to invite the Holy Ghost to be with me through the day. I try to keep the Holy Ghost with me throughout the day so that I can keep a feeling of peace and direction in my life. I know these feelings are especially important to keep in my home and in my new marriage. Scripture study and frequent prayers said throughout the day are also a part of my life. The things taught to me at church on Sunday are implemented in my life daily. My day ends much like it stated, in prayer.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

There were many times in my life when I asked myself the question: is this church really true? Every time I asked myself this question I would keep praying the question and keep it in my thoughts. My prayers were always answered with a feeling of peace that this was the true church and that I belonged to the same church that Christ set up when he was on the Earth. If I ever had this question or any other problem or question, all I had to do was ask and I received an answer. Heavenly Father loves me and knows me enough personally to know what I stand in need of. I know that if you ask in prayer, you will receive an answer. Show more Show less
