Hi I'm Amanda

I live in Alberta, Canada and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently 18, soon to be 19! I love to read, watch movies and learn new things, I like to snowboard and every fall I go hunting (this past fall I got a nice whitetail deer! My family usually gets a couple animals each year for the meat, which tastes great by the way!). I graduated highschool in 2010 and decided to take a year off to just work, save money and decide what I want to do with my life and as of now I think I want to go to university, major in history with the ultimate goal of becoming a professor and be able to travel the world doing research. I currently attend a young single adult ward, haven't been there too long, but so far I'm really enjoying it. I hope to be married and have a family started within the next ten years. I love to meet new people, so if you have any questions or anything, just add me on facebook or something!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the gospel, and my family has been members for many generations now. Even though I have been taught about the gospel ever since I could remember I still had to gain my own testimony, and find out for myself that this is the true gospel. Going through this process has helped me so much, and has made me WANT to learn and understand more about what we believe and why. Going through this research is a real testimony builder. It also helps me to learn and grow in the gospel, and through this I have gained a strong testimony that helps me KNOW that this is the true church. To quote a book I really enjoyed: "Belief is something you hope for and that you mostly feel is true. I don't feel that way. I KNOW that it is true" this is the same for me, I don't believe that the gospel is true, I KNOW it is. I have felt my savior's love for me individually, and his spirit has testified to me that this is the true church. I hope to continue to learn and grow more within the church as I go throughout my life.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in my young single adult ward as the visiting teaching coordinator. So I assist in keeping records as to who has done their visiting teaching, and motivate those who haven't to reach out to the sisters of whom they visit teach. This calling allows me to get to know the sisters better and develop friendships with them.
