Hi I'm Desiree

I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife of 22 years and a mother of 6 boys ages 20-11. I have a wonderful family. I work as a home health physical therapist assistant or PTA. I love to read and spend time with my boys, I like to be outdoors and go camping. I love animals of all kinds I have 3 dogs and one cat. My life is great!!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As I grew up I was taught the doctrines of the Gospel and taught about Christ. I went through a time where I questioned some of what I had been taught, so in my late teens I knew I had a gain a testimony of the truthfulness of the Church and its' doctrines for myself. I knelt and prayed asking my Heavenly Father about the truthfulness of the Gospel as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I felt at peace and knew that was the answer to my prayer through the Holy Ghost. I have never had one miraculous event to testify of the truthfulness of the Gospel, but I have had small consistent whisperings and confirmations from the Holy Ghost that this church contains the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and offers us all a way to return to live with our Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith in my every day actions. Daily prayer and scripture study are a must to keeping on the path and keeping the commandments, they help keep the Savior in the forefront of my mind. I also serve in my current congregation, that service is termed a calling. My current calling is what is called the Relief Society President which is overseeing to the needs of the women at church ages 18 and above. It is a challenging and time consuming calling, it makes me reach beyond myself and look to my Savior and Heavenly Father for what they need me to do to best meet the needs of the women at church.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

We encourage all worthy young men in our church to serve a mission when they turn 19 years old. It is a privdlege to serve a mission, I currently have a son serving a mission and I think he termed it best you receive blessings you can't get any other way. Show more Show less
