Hi I'm Fred

I have five children, I am a retired CFO of an insurance company and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised by a single Mom, who raised four children. My Father died of a heart attack when I was 11 months old. I married my high school sweetheart and we have five children that are wonderful people. I love serving people and seeing the blessings of God in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Spirit of God has witnessed to me that He has restored His Gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith. I have studied and prayed about the experiences and testimony of this prophet. As I learn more about Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints the more I see the wisdom and love of God our Eternal Father and His Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

One of the best ways to live my faith is by doing things that help people remember God in their lives. A few years ago I noticed that our city's Christmas lighting display was entirely centered in animals and fantasy creatures. There was nothing about the birth of Jesus, nothing that conveyed any thought of the real reason for Christmas. I contacted a few people and some ministers from churches in our city. Within a very short time we were able to raise some funds to purchase a lighted Nativity scene. A local church allowed us to place this Nativity on their property that bordered the city display. Now as anyone approaches the city display, they pass by a beautiful Nativity scene that reminds them of the reason for the season. I think this is a sign of living my faith. Working with several different faiths to bring the Savior's birth to the forefront in a community.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

As we ponder and think about the events that occur about us every day we need to be aware of the inspiration of the Jesus Christ. If we exercise faith we will witness the blessings of the Lord. I have felt this many times in my professional career. I was not trained as an accountant or a computer specialist, however the Lord moved me into the role of Chief Financial Officer. In this role both accounting and computer knowledge is important. Many times over many years I would come to an accounting problem that I could not solve. I would very often offer a silent prayer and ask the Lord for help. As I sat for a few moments and listened I would receive the answer and I would see the way to solve the problem and complete the assignment. I know the Lord was listening and providing the answer. I needed to exercise faith, and listen to the Spirit. Show more Show less
