Hi I'm Luann

I'm a mother by adoption. I hiked Mt Whitney in the moonlight. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am second generation native Arizonan. I am a busy wife, mother and grandma who enjoys being a homemaker and spending time in nature. I learned to garden from my neighbor who is legally blind. She shares her plants with me and teaches me how to nuture them. I love to hike! It is both exhilerating and relaxing to explore nature with friends and family. Being on the top of a Mountain or on a trail in the desert or forest, makes me feel close to God. It is emotionally cleansing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was nutured in my faith by loving parents, teachers and church leaders. My parents never had to make me go to church, I liked going. It was a warm, loving, safe and happy place to be. I remember being a young girl attending primary (the organization for children) and singing songs about Jesus and Heavenly Father. As I sang, I experienced warm and peaceful feelings. Still, one of my favorite songs is: I know my Father lives and loves me too. The Spirit whispers this to me and tells me it is true. He sent me here to earth by faith to live his plan the Spirit whispers this to me and tells me that I can.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping the commandments, and serving others. It is important to me to attend church each Sunday and partake of the sacrament. It reminds me of the Saviors atonement and his great love for me. I serve with young women in my church who are 14 & 15 years old. On Sundays we have a class where they learn about gospel principles and how to apply them in thier life. On Wednesday evening we gather together and have activities, where we give service and learn skills. I help them to set goals and achieve them.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Luann
We believe the Holy Ghost is member of the Godhead, which includes Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It is his mission to testify to us the truth of all things. When we hear or read something and get a warm feeling - that is the Holy Ghost telling us it is good and true. We sometimes call him "The Comforter". Just like a comforter on your bed makes you feel warmth and comfort, the Holy Ghost can fill you with warmth, peace and comfort in your times of need. He let's me feel God's love for me.
