Hi I'm David

I love life. Am grateful for those around me. And, I have chosen to follow Jesus Christ.

About Me

I am a husband, a father (of 4 boys), a brother, and a son. I am a healthcare executive. I love to learn, create, play sports with my kids, and be in the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Jesus Christ is the Messiah who the prophets of old foretold would come. By careful study of His life, His teachings, and His mission in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, I have come to know of the truthfulness of His gospel by the power of the Holy Ghost. Because of this witness of the Spirit, I cannot deny the Book of Mormon is the word of God. He is the way back to God the Father of our Spirits, and by Him I have confidence in life eternal. John 3:16 My testimony is everything to me; more precious than any earthly possession. I am Mormon because in the Church of Jesus Christ I have found the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it has taught me how to come unto Him and be saved.

How I live my faith

My faith in Jesus Christ is not just something I say I believe, but I seek to live in all that I do (in work and church responsibilities, and in my family and neighborhood). Am I perfect? No. But I am grateful for the Savior's invitation to "Come follow me." As I choose to do this, and follow His pattern of righteousness, I have found access the peace that He offers.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is God's power given to men, who are called and set apart by one having authority, for the blessing of God's children. When administered by one who has authority and is living his life in accordance with God's will, the priesthood has power to bless the lives of others. Those who receive the priesthood make an oath and covenant with God to live righteous lives and be of service to their fellow men. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mormon Missionaries do as Paul did, after He gained a testimony of Jesus Christ and was commissioned by Peter, he went to preach the gospel, saying, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth...." Before Jesus Christ left this earth, after His resurrection, he said (Matthew 28:19-20), "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have ccommanded you...." Proselyting is a way to reach out to those who may be seeking for the Gospel and praying to know God's truth, but know not where to find it. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Mormon Temples are a place where saving ordinances are performed. Just as baptism is a saving ordinance, there are other saving ordinances that are done in the Holy Temples of the Lord. One of these ordinances is the sealing of husbands and wives to each other and to their children, not just for time but for eternity. I love my wife and my children. And, I am grateful for the blessings of the Temple where I have received the promise of an eternal family. The peace and calm that I feel in the Temple is like nothing in this world.
