Hi I'm Matt W

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband to a wonderful wife, a dad to a really cute daughter, soccer player, CPA, runner (formerly), Real estate guru, studier of people, french speaker, spanish speaker, ping pong player, and I just love life in general.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the LDS church before I was born and raised me and my 5 brothers and sisters in the Gospel. The Gospel is by far the awesomest thing in my life other than family (although family cannot be separated from being mormon, they are so intertwined). When I was about 14 years old I was trying to figure out who I was and what kind of person I wanted to be. I began hanging out with people that were leading me away from the teachings of the Jesus Christ. One day during this period of my life I felt especially lonely and dark. At that moment, I decided to search the truth through prayer and through reading the scriptures daily. After over a year of praying for an answer I received one when I was attending a youth meeting. At the meeting teenagers were sharing their feelings one at a time at a podium. One boy got up to the podium and struggled to express what he believed as he fought back the tears. Although, he did not say many words, I felt the spirit of heavenly father touch my heart and fill me with a feeling of hope, love, joy, etc. It was my answer. That was the beginning of when I started to have a strong belief that the plan of salvation is true and I could accept the framework it suggested for my life. I knew that I am a spirit child of God, he sent me to earth to learn and grow, through his son Jesus Christ, I can overcome all challenges and accomplish miracles in my life. This life I will live in joy with my family, and after this life I will live with my family in the presence of my loving heavenly father.

How I live my faith

I teach the 10 year olds in primary for church. It is definitely not an easy task as some children are quite "Active." I do enjoy teaching them about stories of courageous people in the past. I try to communicate with them the passion that I have for the Gospel and help them to know that with faith they can do anything they want in life.
