Hi I'm Erik

I am a husband, a teacher, and a father of a child with special needs. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Born in California, raised in Alaska, lived in Europe and currently enjoy the Pacific Northwest of the USA. I am a husband to a wonderful wife. My career started in graphic design and advertising, then I changed careers and became an elementary school teacher. In fall, I produce a non-profit "haunted forest" during the Halloween season to raise money for youth groups. I am also a dad--my son is an example of selfless service. My daughter has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, and she is also visually and hearing impaired.

Why I am a Mormon

I am proud to call myself a Mormon. Why? Because it is real. I have seen over and over again the truth of what I believe. It makes sense to me. It has been confirmed by powerful spiritual experiences. It has brought happiness and perspective during difficult times.

How I live my faith

I try to live the Gospel every day. It's not just a Sunday-only habit. It's a way of life. I have taught in many capacities all my life. I have taught adults, teenagers, and little children. I served a mission to France and Switzerland and, returning home, taught French to future missionaries. I participate in whatever I'm asked to do--church doesn't mean much unless we serve each other. Isn't that the point?

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Jesus Christ is our Savior. My life and character have been improved by following His good example.  Show more Show less
