Hi I'm Adam

I like video games and hiking and I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Father of four children, three girls and one boy. I like play video games, I probably put a little to much time into them but hey nobody’s perfect. I love hiking and I think this is one of the most beneficial ways to see all the wonders on the earth. I like writing stories. Nothing major just a hobby that I do for myself. I love spending time with my children, taking them to the park, taking them on hikes with me, or the occasional movie. I also like to do work on my ancestors. I like to know where I came from.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon household and my parents occasionally made me go to church. Sometime around age eighteen I decided that my parents didn’t know what they were talking about and neither did the church. So I left and did my own thing. I kept having doubts about my decision to leave the church throughout the years. So after a six year hiatus I decided it was time to fully read the Book of Mormon and take the challenge presented at the end. This is something that I had never done before. I read the book in about three months and as soon as I got on my knees and opened up the prayer I felt what I can only describe as a fire being injected into me. It was an awesome feeling. I decided that it was time for me to go back to church and get back on the right track. This moment is what I think back on whenever I’m struggling. This is why I am Mormon, not because I was born into the religion. It is because I discovered, for myself, the truth.

How I live my faith

The most important calling to me, is being a father and making sure I teach my children correct principles. I do this by conducting weekly family home evenings. Family home evenings is where my wife and I have a planned lesson or activity that we do once a week with our family. Usually we have a small treat at the end. I also do ancestry work for those that came before me. I not only like how the church is centred around my current family but also my previous ancestors. It is important to know were I came from.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No we do not worship Joseph Smith. The Church holds him in high regard for the great work he has done in restoring the Church. I'm grateful for the work and self sacrifice that Joseph Smith did in order to bring Christ's Church back to the earth. However, Jesus Christ is the one the Church worships and it is his Church that I belong to. It is only through Christ that I may be saved. Show more Show less
