Hi I'm Megan Thompson

Hi. I love to smile!! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born of "goodly parents" in a family of 6 kids. I am the 2nd daughter of 6 kids, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. Now I am an aunt of 4 nephews and and 2 beautiful nieces who I love to pieces! I was born and raised in Utah where I was surrounded by many of my faith. I'm grateful for their example. When I was 21 I made a choice to serve a full time mission for the church. I prayed and felt that is what God wanted me to do in my life at that time. I soon got my mission call to the Indianapolis Indiana mission! I am thankful to a Heavenly Father that gave me the opportunity to serve my brothers and sisters in Indiana and share with them what brings peace and happiness in this life. I am currently a full time student and working.

Why I am a Mormon

The older I get in life the more I realize that the more success I have in life I attribute to 4 people. 2 of which raised me to become who I am today. Those are my parents, the others I attribute my success to is my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. Both my parents are converts to the church. My mom joined the church when she was 19 years old. My dad was 16. Everytime they tell me how they converted the spirit testifies to me of that and confirms that they were at the right place at the right time searching for something more in life that only the Gospel of Jesus Christ could bring them. It changed their lives forever. It not only changed them but it changed their future generation. It changed me. I am grateful to be born and blessed with this gospel in my life. To have strong moral values that will protect me from worldly influences. It brings peace, and a feeling that is undescribable. Life is full of ups and downs, sorrow and success, tears and Joy. We come from all walks of life. The restored gospel teaches us that "all things will work together for our good" if we walk uprightly, love God and live the commandments. I know that is true. I have experienced trials that strengthen my relationship with God and help me to be better each day I live... This is why I'm mormon.

How I live my faith

"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen for the things which are seen are temporal but the things which are not seen are eternal." -2 Corinth. 4 17-18. I love the scriptures, they bring meaning and widen our knowledge of truth. Sometimes, we tend to look at outer appearances to determine who we are, but there is SO much more to people when we look into their heart. I love simplicity! I am a very simple person, most of my life things and choices have always been black or white. Not much in between. THe gospel is simple. Yet, as human beings often make it more comlicated than usual. I love this scripture.. "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." -James 122 It's more than just being your best. You MUST DO!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Megan Thompson
We strongly believe in finding answers for yourself. In the Book of Mormon, is says this. "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." -Moroni 10:4-5 I have a personal testimony that God lives, and loves us all. That Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called my God to restore the true gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth again. And that our living prophet today is inspired to lead us and as we follow his council we will be happy. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It says that "a man may get nearer to God by abiding by it's precepts, than by any other book." I know that is true. And it is a book that testifies of the reality of our Savior Jesus Christ and who he really is. This is how we know..And you can too. Show more Show less
