Hi I'm Aaron

I'm a physics PhD student who loves basketball and reading and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate student studying physics with an emphasis in experimental work involving lasers. I love playing basketball and reading books. I am married but do not have any children yet.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in the church, it was not until my teenage years that I gained a strong conviction that being a Mormon was the right thing to do. With a group of friends I read The Book of Mormon in just under a week. I then prayed to ask God if the things I had read were true and if the book of Mormon was indeed true scripture. Through the witness of the Holy Ghost, I received a firm answer that The Book of Mormon is indeed the word of God. Since then, I have received many other witnesses from the Holy Ghost that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. Beyond these spiritual witnesses, my membership in this church brings me happiness. Knowing that Christ is my savoir, that He suffered for my sins, and that I am a member of His church helps me maintain a positive outlook on life. Furthermore, through the church, I have developed many friendships with other individuals that have a strong faith in Christ. These relationships have deeply enriched my life and helped me become a better person.

How I live my faith

The biggest way that I live my religion is that I try to treat those around me as Christ would treat them. For me, this starts at home. The most important (and often most difficult) relationships in life are the relationships with our family members. I try my best to treat my wife with love and kindness and help her in any way possible. Beyond showing love to those in the home, I feel that being a follower of Christ entails being kind to those I interact with in my school and professional settings. I look for ways to show those around me that I care for them and that I am willing to help them when I am able. I also live my faith by attending worship services every Sunday. These services are spiritually uplifting for me and give me time to cultivate friendships with the other members of the congregation.
