Hi I'm Kenneth Merrill

I'm a Mormon and I love the church and the importance they put on stengthening families

About Me

I am the father of four wonderful children and four grand children. My favorite thing to do is to be with my family and grow in my relationship with them. I especially love being with my bride of 28 years. I work for the government as a Mechanical Engineer overhauling ships and submarines. I love being a part of protecting our great nation and helping to maintain our freedoms. I enjoy playing racquet ball, skiing, being a handy man around the house and taking care of a garden. I love to enjoy the beauties of this earth and being out in nature. I enjoy vacationing in new and different places and experiencing different cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life. I was taught to live the gospel by wonderful parents and enjoyed a close family relationship as I was growing up and continue with that close relationship to this day. I have recognized all my life that it is because of the church and living its teachings that made my life as wonderful as it is. As I have attended church throughout my life and lived by its teachings, I have come to know of it's truthfulness. As I have studied the scriptures, I have felt my Savior Jesus Christs love for me and I feel close to him as I live his gospel. My greatest joy is the knowledge that through my marriage in the temple to my sweet wife, that I can be together with her and my family for all eternity, I can not imagine an eternity with out her or my posterity. I love the scriptures which include the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price, I know that they are the word of God and that I can draw nearer to God by reading and pondering them and then living by the teachings which are in them. I know that my Heavenly Father Loves me and knows me personally and if I obey his commandments I can return to live with him. i know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christs church on the earth today with his priesthood authority. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called by God to restore his church to the earth as it was organized by Jesus when he was on the earth but because of the wickness of the world was lost from the earth. This knowledge is what fills my life with Joy and is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Through out my life in the church I have been involved in many ways. I have taught the children of which I loved, they are so good and pure. I think I learned more from the children on how to live than they could ever have learned from me. I have lead and taught the youth and have come to recognize what great potential they have. I have served with and lead groups of men in congragations and have performed many hours of service with them. As we served together we developed a strong bond of brotherhood that will last all my life and I believe into eternity. I have served as a Bishop of a congregation and came to deeply love the members of my congregation as I shared in their sorrows, happiness, struggles with employment, losses of loved ones, difficulty with children and struggles to be the kind of people they know they should and want to be. I currently serve as one of the presidents of several congregations and my life is filled with Joy as I serve and grow with hundreds of good people. Through the years I have learned that the most important thing I can do to serve my Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ is to serve my fellow man. That is how I try to live my faith.
