Hi I'm Nathaniel

but everybody calls me "Than." I'm married. I love to design and create. Plus I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Virginia with great parents and as the youngest of 5 kids. I've been married about 3 years now to a wonderful, fun woman. I love art, design and classic literature. I'm in the middle of the very long book, Les Miserables. I love my job as a graphic and web designer.

Why I am a Mormon

This church has had such a remarkable impact on my life. It helps me come closer to God, to be happy and be a better person. I've read, studied and prayed about the teachings of the church. Every time I do this with a total sincerity I have been surprised by peace joy, and understanding I have obtained. This is the life for me.

How I live my faith

I try to love, serve and support those around me. To be a true friend. Right now I'm a teacher every Sunday for a great group of youth. My wife and I try be good friends to a lot of people. We always wish we could do more.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Two things come to mind. Pray and read the scriptures. That has helped me come to know him better. In the scriptures prophets and others describe their experiences with God. You start to see what God is like, his attributes, his desires, his love and his plan for us. When we pray it gives God a chance to communicate with us directly. He says “Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you." He usually doesn't communicate with an audible voice but with thoughts and feelings. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

It may seem unbelievable to believe in prophets, men who can receive revelation from God. But I really do believe that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet chosen by God. I've had many times while hearing him speak a strong feeling of the spirit come into me and confirm that he truly is inspired of heaven. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Nope. We worship God, as our loving Father, and Jesus Christ, as our Savior. We respect and admire Joseph Smith as a great prophet, like Moses, Abraham or John the Baptist. He like all other prophets has taught us to love God and love our fellowmen (but never to to worship him). Show more Show less
