Hi I'm Lisa!

I love to read, crochet, travel, am a martial artist, a wife and desire to be a Speech Language Pathologist someday. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey, I'm Lisa. My husband and I do not have children yet, though we greatly hope to. I love to read books of almost all kind. I have recently learned to crochet and am really enjoying it. I find it relaxing. My husband and I do Tae Kwon Do, or, Korean Karate. The specific style is called Chung Do Kwan, one of the oldest forms of Tae Kwon Do. It has been great for us physically and mentally. I love spending time with family, road trips, hiking, camping, gardening, and helping support epilepsy research by spreading the word and making jewelry, etc. I have a degree in Child Day Care Management, and hope to someday earn a degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the feeling I get when going to church every week. I feel lifted, strengthened and peaceful. I know Christ lives and loves me. I know my Heavenly Father loves me. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to translate the Book of Mormon. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I love the Book of Mormon, I feel closer to God when I read it. I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know and am grateful that Jesus died and atoned for my sins. My testimony is very dear to me. If I did not have it, I don't know where I would be. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

How I live my faith

I try to be the best I can be. I do my best to be a good example to others by living what I believe and being myself. I take my trials and struggles and look for the good in them and the things they can teach me. I serve others by supporting epilepsy research to find a cure by selling pins, jewelry, etc and donating the money to research. Soon I hope to be donating my crocheting to local maternity wards at the hospital. I teach the women in my local congregation once a month. I lend a listening ear to friends when they need it. Comfort and advice when needed. I know I'm not perfect. Like everyone else, I make mistakes. But I ask God for forgiveness and use it as an opportunity to better myself. I do my best to follow the example Jesus Christ set for us.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we do not worship him, but we do remember him, respect him and honor him. We worship Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

You can know the Church is true by reading and studying the Book of Mormon, praying for understanding regarding what you read, praying, with an open heart and an open mind, if the Book of Mormon and the Church are true. Also, by following God's commandments. Sometimes the answer may not come immediately or in the way you expect, but it will come. Sometimes the answer is a soft, warm, peaceful feeling in your heart. A calm assurance. That is the Holy Spirit confirming the teachings to be true. Show more Show less
