Hi I'm Erin

I'm a mom of three. I'm a snowboarder and wanna-be musician. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I met my husband in High School but we didn't marry until 8 years later after we both had some good time apart and really figured out that we were the only ones for each other. We have three children (2 boys ages 4 and 2 and a little girl 4 months). I have a masters degree in school counseling from the and a bachelors in psychology. I love to travel, snowboard and play the guitar. I love music and the outdoors. I love to run. I love to travel. I love living life to the fullest.

Why I am a Mormon

I was "born into" the church and always remember praying to God and feeling the presence of the spirit in my life. I remember as a child praying to know where something was or for the welfare of a family member and having my prayers answered and a feeling of comfort. As I grew older and started to think about things more, I needed a confirmation about the Mormon church and things in the church that make our church unique. I needed to know that the fundamental foundations we rest our beliefs on- such as the belief in modern day prophets, revelation, Joseph Smith, Book of Mormon etc, were true. I studied the Book of Mormon and I asked the Lord about Joseph Smith. I received a witness through the spirit. I have received similar witness and answers since regarding personal struggles and also doctrinal questions. I know the Lord will answer our questions and our prayers. I know He wants us to know Him and to find joy in our lives. I have experienced His hand in my life and know He knows me personally. I am a Mormon because it brings me peace. It brings me closeness to God, purpose in life, and hope when things are hard. I'm a Mormon because I pray to know and the Lord hears me, He hears us all.

How I live my faith

I am a mom of three busy kids under 5 and don't get a lot of time to myself but I always make time to study the scriptures-my days never go as well if I don't. Every day I try to get up before my children do and study and exercise. I often will do both at the same time- on the elliptical! :) It is my favorite time of day. I receive so many answers to my questions through my scripture study, answers about how to raise my children, how to be a better wife, how to deal with a personal struggle or help others who are struggling. I am so thankful for the inspiration I receive as a result of my study. I live my faith through this scripture study time. I live my faith as a mother- teaching my children the ways of the Lord so they can find hope in their lives and answers to their questions. I serve in the church with the youth and teach them on Sundays and spend time with them in the week. I live my faith by praying to our Heavenly Father and involving Him in my life. I live my faith by trying to be a good neighbor and reaching out to others around me who are sick or down. I live my faith by leaning on the spirit of the Lord to get me through hard times and to rejoice with in good times.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Erin
Because we are human we will make mistakes, none of us is perfect. But because of the sacrifice of our perfect brother, our Savior, we can repent and be made clean through baptism, confessing our sins and forsaking them. Through this repentance process we can be made clean thus freeing us from guilt and making it possible for us to return to live with our Heavenly Father. The Savior also makes possible the resurrection of our bodies and spirits so that when we die it is not the end. As a result of the resurrection and as we follow His commandments we can be with our families forever.   Show more Show less
