Hi I'm Fangaafa

I'm a Mormon before I am Tongan.

About Me

I recently returned home from serving in the California Santa Rosa Mission. I love learning about traditions and cultures. I love the Hmong people a ton. I love relationships. I love food. I love to laugh. I love to travel. I love teaching. I love to talk ALOT. I love to dance dance dance. I love to listen to the wind, be still, and take time to reflect on life and how blessed I am. I'm loving life!

Why I am a Mormon

In the Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ, a great King named Benjamin admonished his people and us to be "...steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent may SEAL YOU HIS, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who created all things in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen." Mosiah 515 This is why I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I want the Lord to SEAL ME HIS so that I can have everlasting joy. I'm grateful for the knowledge that I have of my Savior Jesus Christ and His Atonement. I'm grateful for the knowledge that I have of a loving Heavenly Father who wants to help us if we would just humble ourselves, kneel in sincere prayer, and simply ask. I'm grateful for modern day prophets who speak the words of God, and the power of the priesthood that is on the Earth. I'm grateful for the opportunity to forever learn about God and His will for me. I know that because I'm a member of this true and everlasting church, I have been blessed with what I have and what I know. It brings great joy to my heart and soul to have a testimony of these things by the power of the Holy Ghost. As I remain steadfast and immovable in my testimony and continue to serve my brothers and sisters like the Savior would if He were here at this time, He will SEAL ME HIS and I can live with Him forever with my family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I love offering service in all measurements because my smile gets bigger and bigger. It brings so much joy to my life. I love teaching not only the Gospel, but also Polynesian dancing so that others may know more about the beauty of my culture. I also have fun serving my friends and family members. Sometimes all they need is someone to listen to them and that's what I try to do. Just listen. It truly is a great act of service. It's such a blessing to be able to serve others because that's what the Gospel is all about.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Fangaafa
Temples are what connects heaven and earth. In the temple, we make sacred covenants and perform ordinances that will last throughout eternity. Temples are built to do service for those that have passed on from this life and were not able to perform sacred ordinances for themselves. The temple opens our minds so that we can have an eternal perspective. Think about it, if God will live forever shouldn't we?   Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Fangaafa
A testimony is a personal spiritual assurance through the Holy Ghost that something is true. By the power of the Holy Ghost, I know that God lives and that He loves us His children individually. I know that as we keep His commandments we are happier in life. I know that as we follow the promptings of the Spirit, the Spirit testify of truth, comfort us, warn us, and help us make the right choices. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know and feel of its truthfulness by the power of the Holy Ghost. One can gain a testimony by pondering and praying to God to receive a personal spiritual assurance. Show more Show less

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Fangaafa
The prophet today is President Thomas Spencer Monson. He is a charitable man and surely he speaks the word of God. He has a great sense of humor, a love for the people, and a diligent heart to serve the Lord. I'm grateful for the opportunity to hear him speak and feel the Spirit so strongly. I know that his counsels are not just for Mormons, but for everyone that wants to know of what the Lord wants us to do. God loves us all therefore He has called a prophet today to lead, guide, and direct us by the power and authority of God. Show more Show less
