Hi I'm Dan

I'm a husband. I'm a dad. I'm a Christian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Colorado with my wife of 26 years and have three children - two boys and a girl - ages 24, 22 and 20. Our oldest son graduated from college and is preparing to enter officer training in the Army. Our middle son is getting his degree in college in Emergency Services Administration. Our youngest daughter recently married and is soon graduating from college.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a multi-generational Mormon family, and until I was called to serve as a missionary for Jesus Christ at age 19, I did not appreciate the impact the Gospel of Jesus Christ had on me, or how it would shape my life. One beautiful Spring morning in Williamsburg, Virginia, I knelt by a stone bench in a small ravine sourrounded by beautiful trees, flowers and shrubs, and poured my heart out to God to know if the Gospel I was preaching to others was His, and if His true church was literally on the earth. I did not hear any audible voice, or was visited by angels, but the power of the Holy Ghost filled my entire being, and I knew for assurety this was His church and His Gospel. It shaped my life for good from that moment on.

How I live my faith

At age 46, I was called to serve as a Bishop over the congregation - Ward - I attended. It was the most humbling experience of my life. It taught me how to love more, serve more, and give more that I ever thought possible. A great King of old, in the Book of Mormon, once told his people, "...when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." I live my faith through service every day, trying to love my neighbor with all my heart.
