Hi I'm Jeff

I am a convert to the church. I lived 36 years of my life without the gospel of Jesus Christ and today, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Arizona transplant who lives in the Pacific Northwest now. I work in the Quality Assurance section of a large production facility. I really enjoy being with my Family, they are my greatest asset which brings me much joy and contentment. I grew up sailing the Pacific, flying in small airplanes and hiking is a great passion of mine as well. - I came from a good family and am grateful for my upbringing. As an adult, I became a parent at the age of 25. I have been a baseball and basketball coach to the young people. I also dedicated myself in Boy Scouting and adventures to keep young men active for the good. I really enjoy serving others and spending time losing my worries by trying to be a friend to them, I LOVE LIFE!

Why I am a Mormon

I was actually raised with no religion in my life. I had many times had very spiritual experiences that I realized later in life were important and my compass. I knew members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as far back as I can remember. I could feel something different when I was around them. I had been to church before and it seemed sacred. Now, as I look back and attend service, I know what it was I had felt. It 'is' sacred. - I do not really know where I would be without my church membership. It has set me up for eternity. I have done more things with my life as a direct result. I know now that these are blessings that make me a better person. I have an understanding that we do not simply die and fade away. I will be able to utilize these experiences in this life and the life to come. I studied Christ enough to know that it is all engaging not just part way. I am committed to him. - I know that this church contains the truth that Christ wanted in these days. I know that the Gospel has been restored just as Christ assembled it in the beginning. I have prayed for answers about the ordinances and the way that the church is organized and I know them to be correct. The word 'organize' does not worry me, If Jesus Christ is real and the earth WAS created, I cannot see it being done "un" organized! I am Mormon – because the Book of Mormon is true. The rest is simple for me. Once I read the Book of Mormon I could not deny it.

How I live my faith

I practice my Faith by trying to remember Jesus Christ. I made a baptismal covenant (or a two way promise) to remember him, and so I do my best. Part of that is my weekly attendance at Church services. There - I can partake of the Sacrament and go to classes that teach about Gospel Principles and Eternal things that can help me to keep progressing. I have taught as well. It teaches me, so the benefit is all mine! - I have the opportunity, and take it, to bless my food before eating. I pray as I get up in the mornings and when I lay down to rest at night. We have a Temple nearby where I can regularly visit and worship my Heavenly Father. I learn eternal blessings there and it brings me comfort. - I like to feel the peace that is brought to me as I read the scriptures. I love the Bible, both the old and new testaments. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and I marvel at its truthfulness when I am ready the spirit tells me so. The more I study the Bible and the Book of Mormon – the more confidence I have that God does live, his son Jesus Christ has sacrificed for us all and that the role of the Holy Ghost is most important to me. The Gospel is real. The books all testify of one another and bring me to the knowledge in which I can practice my Faith as Jesus would want for me.
