Hi I'm Darin

I am a California native and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Orange County, California in a Mormon family. I am 1 of 6 kids and all of us are very active in the church. When I was 19, I served a mission in Taiwan and to this day, still remember my experiences as life-changing and wonderful. I am now married and have 7 children of my own. I work as a computer programmer while my wife stays home with the kids. I love to watch my kids grow and find their talents. My hobbies are music (piano, french horn, singing), photography, film, basketball, snow boarding and watching my kids play music and sports.

Why I am a Mormon

Initially it was because of my parents. But at some point I had to make the decision for myself. Knowing how to pray and to listen for answers was very important to the process. Throughout my life, the Spirit has touched me and has confirmed to me the truths in this church. It is also a great strength to be surrounded by wonderful members of the church who support and strengthen my testimony.

How I live my faith

The most interesting thing about being a Mormon is that it is not a Sunday only religion. It is something I "live" every day. Sunday's are very busy with church, choir practice, extra meetings and firesides. We are also busy during the week with youth activities mutual, scouting, sports, camping and service projects and few other meetings for good measure. Our family also prays daily, read scriptures, eat together for dinner and work with the kids on their faith in god, duty to god and personal progress programs.
