Hi I'm Matt

I was born and raised in Georgia. I'm a musician. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a musician and I'm in college. It's tough to balance school, work and practicing my bass all at once, but I love music and love being in school! I come from a family of two parents and five children. I am the middle child of the five.

Why I am a Mormon

It's pretty easy to say "my parents are members, so I'm a member too." But there comes a time in everyone's life where he/she has to make a decision. For me, it was "do I keep coming to church, or do I do my own thing?" I thought on it for a long time. The first thing that made me really want to be "Mormon" is the peaceful feeling that I get when I attend meetings. Also, as I read the scriptures, specifically "The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ", there is an undeniable spiritual power that touches me. I think specifically of a moment in the book where Christ is speaking, and He says, "Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me." I have had testimonies that are undeniable that come directly from a loving Heavenly Father through His Spirit.

How I live my faith

In the congregation that I attend, I am in charge of selecting the hymns and other musical numbers that are sung/played during the meetings. I love being so familiar with the praises that we sing to our God. I am also responsible for visiting several people in the congregation, attending to their needs that they need help to meet, and giving them comfort and counsel when it is needed. I do my best to set a good example for those around me by serving others and being kind.
