Hi I'm Brian

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 22 and currently attending college. I am studying advertising and hope to go on to obtain an MBA. I love sports specifically, Frisbee, wakeboarding, basketball, and fishing. I love music. All my life my mom has taught piano, so I have always grown up around music. I play guitar and a little piano. I have 6 sisters and 2 brothers. I am the second youngest.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. I was raised in this church. That does not mean that I always knew that the principals taught were true. For the majority of my life I was only a Mormon because my parents were Mormon. But in the last few years I have truly grown to know that I am a Mormon. I can not pin down a specific time or event that made me sure that all of this is true. It has been a long process over several small but very powerful experiences. It has taken much prayer, reading the scriptures, and going to church. The Lord has answered my prayers and I am a Mormon today only because he has told me that this is true. And today I help others find this same truth that I have found.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best every day to do as the Lord commands. I have only been at this for 22 years so I am not that good at it yet. I mess up every day. But I pray that the Lord will forgive my short comings and help me to become the person He needs me to be. Recently I returned home from a 2 year full time mission. It was the greatest experience of my life. I had the opportunity to help many others come to know God and Christ.

What is faith?

Brian
Faith is to believe in something that you don’t really have a perfect understanding on. It’s something that is not generated by sight, smell, hearing, or taste. It comes from somewhere else. It comes from God. It comes as we actively engage ourselves in trying to obtain it. Faith is more than just saying, “I believe.” It is saying, “I believe and I will do.” We are in a constant battle to keep our faith. We must exercise it daily through pray and scripture study. Once we have faith then the come the miracles. Whenever the Lord would heal a person their faith would be required first. Often time he would ask if the afflicted person had faith to be healed. We ourselves must have faith first before we can ever expect to be healed. Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Brian
Personally for me the greatest blessing of the Holy Ghost is that of guidance and comfort. Recently I had the hardest experience of my life. For 8 months I was dating a girl and for the last 2 of those 8 months we were engaged to be married. During those 8 months we both prayed endlessly that we would be guided by the spirit. I felt strongly that I was supposed to marry her. She felt the same way about me, most of the time. Other times she felt very uncertain and scared about marrying me. But we thought it was just nerves and we ignored it. I now know that it was not just nerves she was feeling, it was the spirit. We desperately wanted to be married but the Lord has a different plan for the two of us. Sadly the Holy Ghost does not give us answers we always want to hear. I still do not understand why I felt so good about marrying her and she did not feel the same way. But that is ok. I don’t need to understand everything right now. I have received so much comfort from the Lord assuring me that I am doing the right thing and that all is well. I know that this is true and I pray that this will help someone know that all is well.
