Hi I'm Chris

I grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago. I started my family in Arizona, and I am a mormon.

About Me

I like playing sports and working out. Football is a passion for me and I recently picked up mountain biking again. I am married and a father of three. I graduated from Utah State University with a BA in finance and a minor in economics and Russian.

Why I am a Mormon

I find structure in the church that helps me keep what most important to me, my family and my testimony of Jesus Christ, at the forefront of my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day. It is not easy in our society to always keep focused on what is most important. My assignment in the church as a teacher really helps me continue to try to become a better person and follower of Christ. After all how can I teach a principle of the gospel of Jesus Christ if I am not trying my best to live it? It is not always easy to try to live every principle. I am far from perfect- just ask my wife, but the church keeps me focused. The fellowship and support are great!

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Chris
We do not worship Joseph Smith. We respect him as a prophet of God just like Moses and Isaiah of the Old Testament. First and foremost we worship our Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Chris
The Book of Mormon consists of writings of prophets that lived in ancient America. These prophets are just like the prophets in the Bible, for example Moses, Abraham, Jeremiah, and so on. It is named after one of the last prophets in the book whose name was Mormon. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Chris
I try to love my wife with all my heart and try her respect as my best friend. I guess the key word there is "try." We always make important decisions together, and we try not not to sweat the small stuff. We do not always agree on everything, and I would have to say that ninety plus percent of the time she is right anyway. I have learned by watching my dad that a happy mom equals a happy home. I find that the more I help out with chores around the house the more time we get to spend together and with the kids. This makes doing the dishes and the laundry, getting the kids ready for bed, and scrubbing toilets more meaningful for me. Though I would like to say my wife is perfect, she is not, or she certainly would not have married an imperfect guy like me. She does though strive to have these qualites in her life- strong faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ, being a great mom, and focusing on raising her children up in the gospel. If I were to pick three values that women in the church value they would be virtue, good works, and integrity. Show more Show less
