Hi I'm Doug

I live in Canada. I'm a husband to a beautiful wife and father of a wonderful little boy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Being a father and husband is really the what I enjoy most! I also teach school, purify water, ranch and paint houses for a living. I enjoy too many things to mention but especially the outdoors including hiking, riding, camping, fishing, hunting, gardening and working on the ranch. I love to read and enjoy learning new things and helping others to learn.

Why I am a Mormon

To ask why I'm a Mormon is simple as I was born into an LDS family, though my conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ is something much more than that. To put it simply, I am happy. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is not just something I happen to be, but it is a way of life. It is engrained in everything I am, and not just what I do on Sunday. I believe that in the true gospel the Lord would set high standards for living and that is what I find in the Church. As I try to live my life to these standards and as I rely on my savior Jesus Christ I am blessed with so much! I have a much better perspective on life. I see the hand of God in everything. I have power to do good. I have hope, my faith is strong and I feel love for others. I'm a better husband, father, co-worker and member of the community. I am happy!

How I live my faith

I currently serve in my church in the boys scouting program. I teach a youth class on Sundays and help plan and carry out young men's activities and camps. I've been asked to be a home teacher in our church, which is basically watching over a few individuals or families within our church community. I visit two great families on a monthly basis and see if there are any needs they have, and usually share a gospel message.
