Hi I'm Wayne

I was born and raised on a farm in upstate New York. I like to serve others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised on a small farm. There was never enough money to dress as well as the other kids and I was a rather shy, quiet person. School was a challenge for me but I got through it and began to come into my own when I went into the Service. I discovered I could do more than I thought. I'm now a Grandpa with five children, eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Life has been challenging but overall very good, and a growing experience.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents always took me to the protestant church I grew up in and in my late teen years I began to question certain beliefs. I attended other churches to see what they believed, searching, although I did not realize I was searching. I had questions which needed answers my pastor could not give. I went into the Air Force and found the L.D.S. Church. As the young missionaries began to teach me, my questions were answered and finally everything made sense, and I knew it was true and desired to be a part of it and was soon baptized. Those truths have been built upon over the years as I have studied and watched the holy spirit work with the leaders of the Church as well as the members like myself. I love having the Book of Mormon as an additional witness of the Holy Bible as it teaches and bears witness of Jesus Christ. I love listening to living prophets as they teach us the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ, giving us direction for these last days.

How I live my faith

Over the past fifty one years I have served in several capacities in the Church, most of which streached me beyond my comfort zone causing growth. In recent years, I have been drawn closer to my Saviour and have come to love Him. I am so grateful for His atonement and His mercy unto me. I have found great satisfaction as I have found ways to be of service throughout the years, both in callings within the Church and being useful outside of the Church.
