Hi I'm Ross

Born and raised in Missouri. I was baptized in 2009. I do MMA. I won a Stand Up comedy contest in college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the Church. I was baptized on September 5, 2009, when I was 20 years old. I am currently the only member of my family that is LDS. I have two older sisters and the oldest one is married. My parents are amazing. They love God and love their family even more. My family doesn't support or approve of me being a member but it is all because they love me so much and don't understand the religion. Even though at times it can be hard being the only member of my family, the blessings of the gospel are worth every trial and struggle. I am currently serving as a missionary right now in the Ogden Utah Mission (Dec. 2010-2012). I played soccer in highschool and was involved with the community of my small hometown. I was introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ when I was a senior in highschool. It was in college that I joined the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there was a point in my life that someone who had the fullness of the gospel showed me through their example that I was missing out on something. When they left my life I could feel the emptiness of the Spirit and their testimony missing. After investigating in the Church for over a year, I received my own testimony of the Church. I know Jesus Christ is my savior, Heavenly Father knows and loves me, Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness. It is not easy being the only member of my family, everyone else is Pentacostal and very active in their church. I was scared to get baptized when the missionaries, after our first lesson, invited me to be baptized. They helped me recognize and know that God loves us, He is always there for us, and will always do what is best for His children. As I always seek council and comfort from my Father in Heaven, I am daily strengthened and reminded that I have come to know the truth. Challenges come but they are just added weight to make us stronger and more founded in restored knowledge through personal prayer, scripture study, and listening to the prophets today. I know with all my heart that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of our redeemer Jesus Christ!! I know this not because someone told me it was true, but because I have felt the Holy Ghost testify to my heart that these things are true. That is my testimony and I know these things are true and I say them in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the example of Christ. I try to love everyone and be kind to them. I attend church every Sunday and do my best to keep all the commandments of God as well as bear my testimony when prompted to. Right now I am even serving a mission for the church in the Utah Ogden Mission. It is a two year commitment that I have decided to make because I want others to feel the joy and happiness I feel from having the gospel in my life. It is a great opportunity not only now to fully focus and dedicate this time to serving the Lord but to also show the world that we can be normal, have fun, and still live righteously. I love the gospel and all the blessings it has brought into my life. Every day I have to act in faith to follow the example of my Savior but I know that we can overcome all obstacles and that we don't have any need to fear (2 Timothy 1:7, The Holy Bible).
