Hi I'm Dan

I'm a convert, a husband, a father, from Michigan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Working full-time to support myself and my family. I enjoy working in the garden, farmers markets, raising chickens....sustainable homesteading. I am finding the joy in fatherhood.

Why I am a Mormon

I met missionaries while I was in college. I had been studying urban planning and was researching how religion affected the building and design of a city, like Salt Lake City. I enjoyed talking with missionaries and was impressed that they were virtuous young men. As I attended church for the first time and began to meet members of the congregation I felt that there was something good there. I began to desire to be baptized to show Heavenly Father that I believed in him. I felt the teachings I was receiving were true, that Jesus is the Christ, that the Church of Jesus Chist of Latter-day Saints is the true church with living apostles and prophets, and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I wanted to be a part of building the Lord's kingdom here on the Earth.

How I live my faith

Day in, day out, first thing I do is roll out of bed, kneeling in prayer and let the Lord know what is on my mind and in my heart, I often ask for strength to help me through tough times, to be kinder and to love my enemies. I search the scriptures diligently, as often as I can, usually daily. I live my faith by giving much of my time, talents, money and would be willing to give even all that I have to it. I am assigned to hometeach and to be a steward to several families in my local congregation. As a lay leader of my priesthood group, I attend early morning meetings, council with other leaders on how best to meet the needs of members of our congregation, and serve the Lord the best I can as I feel prompted to through the Holy Ghost.

In whom should we have faith?

Jesus Christ. He is our Redeemer, our Savior, our Advocate with the Father. John 1:3 "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." Show more Show less
